After returning from South Korea, Madison was in need of some social interaction and companionship. She turned to the dark side of the internet, Hinge, in an attempt to meet anyone who was willing to listen to at least five minutes of her travel stories. She was lucky enough to meet Nick, who even now listens to her talk about South Korea for at least five minutes every day. Their first date was at an Olive Garden in Cedar Rapids, where they feasted upon their favorite meals of fettuccine alfredo and chicken parmesan. After that, they got some Coldstone ice cream and the rest is history.

Nick and Madi were on their backpacking trip across Europe when they reached the Matterhorn in Switzerland. They were up high in the mountains, snow everywhere despite it being the end of May. It was a beautiful scene, and Nick thought it the perfect time to pop the question. They were lucky enough to have a few of their friends alongside them during this trip, and so Lauren and Mia were trying to get Madi to turn around so Nick could surprise her. Madi, unaware of this plan, was so busy doing triumphant poses with the mountainous background that she didn't even see Nick kneeling in front of her when she turned around. When she finally realized, Nick asked her with the famous line from ABC's The Bachelor - "Will you accept this ring?" She said yes, and the people around filled the air with applause. It was a beautiful day they will never forget.
