A short 1/4-mile walk down a gravel path is a pristine view of the lower falls, while a moderate hike with picturesque views will take the more adventurous to Upper Fish Creek Falls and Long Lake, deep in the Routt National Forest. Parking is $5 (cash or check) and the lot can get pretty crowded, so plan to go earlier in the day. You won't necessarily have phone service at the Falls.
The Yampa River runs right through downtown Steamboat Springs. There's multiple shops that will rent you a tube and water shoes, then provide a shuttle bus to pick you up and bring you back downtown. Lots of fun!
We went to dinner here with our families the weekend we got engaged. Highly recommend the Creamed Corn Brûlée.
We went here the weekend we got engaged - it's a beautiful, free botanic park near downtown. Very relaxing.
Strawberry Hot Springs is a natural hot springs outside of Steamboat that has been recommended frequently. We haven't been there (yet), but one thing to keep in mind is that after dark, clothing is optional - you may want to plan for a day trip.
Great burgers, laid back atmosphere - if you want a casual meal, this is a good spot.
