Zaharakos
This old-fashioned ice cream shop located in downtown Columbus nearby to The Commons. It was restored around 2010 to match its originally glory and is a fan favorite for local and out of town guests.
Hard Truth Hills
Award winning hard alcohol and beer establishment. Hard Truth produces bourbon, whiskey, vodka, and other spirits. In addition they are partnered with Quaff-On Brewing, who have locations at both IU and Purdue. Nestled in the hills of Nashville Indiana and Brown County this bar and restaurant has stunning views in the Fall.
ZwanzigZ Pizza
Enjoy great beer and great pizza at ZwanzigZ. Located just a couple minutes drive from downtown (Or a 15-20 minute walk), they have the best pizza in town, and some of the best beers which are all brewed in house. Steven and Maddy were frequent flyers of ZwanzigZ during their lunch hours at CNHS.
Hog Molly Brewing Co.
One of, if not the best, brewery in Columbus. Coach Lou coached both Maddy and Steven in high school and after retiring from Cummins opened up his own brewery. This is a fan favorite of the Neal family, who often have their beers on tap. They do not serve food, but carry-outs are welcome and will occasionally have food trucks available. Our recommendation, pick up a pizza from ZwanzigZ and eat at Hog Molly. Best of both worlds!
Blackerby's Hangar 5 Restaurant
This unique breakfast spot is located at the Columbus Airport which was previously an active military base. Sit and enjoy breakfast while watching over an active airport. Next door is the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Force Museum. Both Steven and Maddy have fond memories with their grandparents eating at The Hanger growing up.
Mill Race Park
Beautiful park filled with art, trails, and green space. Great place for a walk or run! Located within walking distance of downtown Columbus and across the street from Hotel Indigo.
Columbus Architectural Tour
Columbus Indiana is known for its famous architecture. Although you will be able to see the stand-outs simply by being downtown, the Architecture Tour is a great way to see more of the city and learn more about of its hidden gems.
Downtown Columbus Indiana
Explore downtown Columbus Indiana! This will be easy to do as our reception will be in the heart of downtown, but we encourage you to explore Columbus' local shops, restaurant, bars, and art installations.
Miller House and Gardens
This historic architectural house represents mid-century modern and residential modernism. This beautiful house walks out to a private garden space which is a highlight in downtown Columbus.
Downtown Nashville Indiana
This quaint small town has tons of local shops and the drive through Brown County is stunning along the way. It is located about 45 minutes from downtown Columbus.
Brown County State Park
This is a beautiful state park, especially in the Fall when the trees are turning colors. Located about 30 minutes from downtown Columbus and Hotel Indigo.
Story Inn Indiana
This is small town located in Brown County Indiana. A little off the beaten path, but a scenic drive to get there. The restaurant serves home-cooked classics with a focus on local produce.
