It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly where our story begins. Is it in the halls of St. Bartholomew? On the track at Columbus North High School? Or perhaps at Harry’s Chocolate Shop years later at Purdue University? Our lives have always been intertwined, though never quite in sync, until the moment was right—and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. In the Fall of 2020, as Steven was wrapping up his undergraduate studies and I was starting my graduate program at Purdue, we reconnected and have been inseparable ever since. It’s a rare twist of fate to fall in love with someone you knew in passing through elementary, middle, and high school, only to have your paths align years later. It’s even rarer to grow closer despite the hurdle of long distance. After graduating in the Spring, Steven moved to Ohio for work while I finished my studies. Even though we were just one state apart, this distance helped us prepare for the even greater challenge of my move to Georgia for work. Much of our relationship has been spent hundreds of miles apart, but every long drive to see each other was worth it. After 2.5 years of long-distance, Steven’s exciting job opportunity in Atlanta has made it all worthwhile, and we’re thrilled to explore a new city together. We’re eagerly looking forward to this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone who has supported us from the beginning. So, let’s get married!
