FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire for our wedding is semi-formal. For men, a nice matching suit jacket or a blazer with dress pants is ideal. Please stay clear of jeans or khakis. For the ladies, a knee to midi-length dress is perfect, keeping in mind this is a step above cocktail wear. Who doesn't love an excuse to dress up! With that in mind, please wear whatever makes you comfortable and perform your stretches beforehand as dancing is expected at the reception!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We would love to have your kids attend our wedding ceremony. However, please join us for an adults-only reception to follow to get the party started! Invitations will be specific and will include the names of those who are invited. Parents, we hope you understand and enjoy a night off!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please refer to your individual wedding invite as all people who are invited to attend are specifically listed on the invitations.

Question

Will transportation be available?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will take place at St Bartholomew Church which is about 10 minutes from the Commons and Hotel Indigo. We are encouraging guests to drive to the church for the ceremony and then return to Hotel Indigo before heading to the Commons for the reception. The Commons is located minutes away from our hotel block at Hotel Indigo (5 minute walk), as a result, there will not be transportation provided for the reception.

Question

When should I plan to Fly/Drive/Bus/Walk/Run into and out of Columbus?

Answer

We are encouraging people who are flying to fly in on Friday, September 5th, and fly out on Sunday, September 7th. If coming a different way, please make your plans accordingly. Please see the travel section for more information on Airports and Hotels. If wanting to come earlier or stay later Columbus is very beautiful in the Fall and is surrounded by close-by scenic cities. Please refer to the 'Things to Do' page for more information.

Question

The wedding ceremony is at a Catholic Church? What if I am not Catholic/Religious/etc.?

Answer

Yes, our wedding ceremony is at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, and we are having a traditional Catholic wedding. The wedding ceremony should take around 1 hour. Everyone is welcome as the ceremony will be focused on our love and we cannot wait to have all of closest family and friends there to celebrate. The service is modified for the wedding and will have some aspects of Catholic Church, however, there is no expectation for you to participate. If you are not comfortable with coming to the church ceremony, please feel free to reach out as we would like everyone to be there on our special day, however, we understand if you would like to attend the reception only.

Question

Can I take pictures of the ceremony?

Answer

Out of respect for the Church, photos during the ceremony will not be allowed. However, feel free to snap as many pics as you like following the ceremony at our reception!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have a registry here on Zola that combines our registries that are on Crate and Barrel, Target, and Amazon.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We are still finalizing the timing of things but currently, the wedding ceremony will start around 2:00-3:00 pm with the reception starting at around 4:30-5:00 pm.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is plenty of parking at both St. Bartholomew Church and around the Commons/Downtown Columbus Area. There is street parking available along with nearby parking garages that you may use.

Question

Are there any colors I should avoid?

Answer

Per tradition, we are reserving white/cream/ivory-toned colors for the bride. For those curious, the bridal party will be wearing light blue.

Question

What is the dinner menu?

Answer

The dinner menu is still being discussed and will be updated accordingly. If you have dietary restrictions, we will accommodate during the RSVP process.

Question

I have to ask, will there be an open-bar? ;)

Answer

Let's have a party! There will be an open bar provided during the evening. For cocktail hour, specialty drinks will be provided for quick service, and beer and wine will be available throughout dinner.

For all the days along the way
