We met through an online dating app (Yeah, who would have thought?!). After talking for several weeks, and having great conversations, we decided it was time to meet in person. We had a date set for Sunday. Coincidentally, that Saturday we both happen to be in the same area, at the same time, so we decided to meet up for a quick introduction. From the moment my eyes laid on him, I knew he was special. What was only supposed to be a quick hi and bye, turned into an eventful night filled with laughing, dancing, and turn of events. Let's just say I needed to get home (covers face). Being the amazing gentleman that he is, Ray got in a cab with me and personally made sure I got home safe. The next morning, I woke up to a text from Ray saying that he still wants to meet up for our original "first date." So I meet up with him at Brooklyn Bridge Park early in the afternoon, and we ended up talking and laughing for hours and hours. When we looked at the time we realized it was about 2 AM. Ever since then, I just knew he was the one.
We had just arrived to Egypt on this day. On this trip was Ray, his mother, my mother, and myself. Ray and his mother had made reservations to this BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING Egyptian restaurant for dinner. When we walked into the restaurant, there was live music, and we were seated in this amazing table right next to the stage. After ordering our food, a photographer came over to our table and asked to take pictures of us. In my head I was thinking, "Ugh. I really don't feel like taking any pictures." But everyone insisted, so I went. First we took pictures of all four of us, then of just us two. Now in my head I'm thinking, "Wow this man is really taking a lot of pictures of us. Is it because he can tell we're obviously tourist? How much money is he going to ask for, for these pictures?" As the photographer is taking pictures of Ray and I, Ray goes over on the other side and gets on one knee and grabs my hand. I was automatically shocked and felt my face shaking as tears of joy just flowed out of my eyes. He then proceeded with his amazing proposal speech which made me cry even more, and laugh at the same time. He told me how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me as his wife, continue traveling the world together, have our own family, along with more beautiful words. When he opened up the ring box, I was automatically shocked and surprised that he had gotten me the ring that I was absolutely IN LOVE with. I said, YES! I was so overwhelmed with joy and happiness, that now I get to call this incredible man my fiance, and will soon be his wife. The photographer was still there, taking pictures, and proceeded to take more pictures of us. Little did I know, Ray had hired this photographer to capture this moment. To me, this proposal was PERFECT, with the added bonus of having both of our mothers there to witness this moment.
