The Capital of Albania Bunk'Art 1 & 2 - Subterranean bunker complex presenting an in-depth look into the country's communist history through informative displays and authentic settings. Includes contemporary art. Dajti Ekspres Cable Car - Take the 15 minute trip up Dajti Mountain on the longest cableway in the Balkans and enjoy the breathtaking views of the city. Skanderbeg Square - Named after an Albanian nobleman who once resisted Ottoman invasion, this dizzyingly vast city square marks the heart of Tirana. It’s home to some of the capital’s most popular landmarks, including the Ottoman-era Eth’em Bey Mosque and clock tower, the National History Museum, and the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. If you are looking for Beaches, Restaurants, Bars, Cafes, then you should head south from Tirana and hit up cities along the Albanian Riviera (Vlora, Himare, Sarande, Ksamil).

"The Stone City” (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Gjirokaster Castle - This symbol of the city and the second largest castle in Albania is one of the best things to do in Gjirokaster. The castle consists of a clock tower, a church, two museums, a captured United States Air Force plane, and much more. Expect to spend at least 2 – 3 hours walking around the site, soaking up the history and stunning views of the city. Up top, you can see the old and new town meet with the beautiful scenery surrounding the city. Gjirokastra Bazaar - Located in the Old Town, this district of zig-zagging streets has been the center of commerce ever since the Ottoman era. Here, you can admire the architecture of the traditional buildings, do some great shopping, and really take in the city’s character.

"The City of a Thousand Windows" (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Berat Castle - This castle is one of the biggest fortifications in Albania. Unlike other castles in the region that have been hollowed out over time, Berat Castle is mostly in-tact. Within its walls, you’ll find a vast citadel complex of stone streets, houses and Byzantine churches mixed in with ruins from various epochs.

Lekuresi Castle - Historical fortress with panoramic views of the coast and nearby islands, hosting sunset dinners with traditional music in an outdoor amphitheater. Boat Tours or Relax on the Beaches - One of the best activities to do while in Saranda is to experience the stunning coastline and natural landmarks of the Albanian Riviera. Check out near by town of Ksamil. The Blue Eye (Syri i Kalter) - This spring is a beautiful natural wonder with its astonishingly blue hue and crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings of a picturesque oasis. It is located just a short drive from Saranda. Butrint - Visit this ancient city (UNESCO World Heritage Site) known for its well-preserved ruins, including a Roman theatre, Byzantine basilica, and Venetian fortress, delving into the rich history and culture of Saranda. Corfu, Greece - Corfu town is a great day trip from Saranda to the island of Corfu, located just a short ferry ride away. We enjoyed a fun ATV tour while visiting!
