Maid of Honor
Where to begin? I can't start at the beginning because I don't actually have any memories that predate Haylee. From thoughts in our mother's minds to infancy to Locke Hill and Blattman Elementary, to middle school dances, and mornings before volleyball, to sleepovers, and first drives, and first dates, to college road trips, to our grand European vacation, to moving cities and starting over, to being in roommates in Dallas - Haylee's just been there. Our lives have been so intertwined that I don't think either of our memories are entirely our own. I may have been an only child growing up, but Haylee has really always been my sister.

As my roommate of 7 years - Jackie and I may have been close to common law marriage. What started in the dorms in Jester, was strengthened at the Block on 23rd (and 25th) and solidified in Dallas. Originally living together in our tiny dorm with a sink and a community shower felt like being at summer camp, but over time living with Jackie became my life. We've shared it all - from the best moments in life to some of the worst. A lot has changed in life over the last 8 years, but my friendship with Jackie has only grown stronger with time.

When you join an 8 year MD/PhD program you have to commit to a new place and people without a lot to go off of, which takes quite the leap of faith. Meeting Mia has been a blessing in Dallas since the start of med school. We quickly bonded over having a lot of the exact same, very niche, quirks. From med school into grad school, Mia has been a steadfast, supportive, and goofy friend. 8 years may seem like a long time, but having Mia to do it with makes it doable. I really couldn't have done the last 4 years without her and I can't wait to see where the next 4 (and beyond) take us.

Kelly is a fiercely sweet friend who always has an ear to listen. From medical school anxieties to tearful moments about long distance, she's heard it all - and never faltered in her support. When snow came and the power grid in Texas failed, Kelly was the first person to want to go on a walk, ready to go around and collect all our friends in need - when she didn't have any electricity herself. When you make friends in medical school you run the risk they may move away from you some day, but I can't wait to see the places this girl goes. Her future patients are lucky to have her.

We both want to thank Billie for all of her support and for traveling all the way to Dallas, not just once, but twice to see us get married!
