Maid of Honor
Maddie's older sister. Lover of all things University of Michigan sports (ew), a lightweight drinker, the mother of the two cutest half-Asian babies this world has ever seen, and the ultimate role model. Rachael has seen every episode of Friends 845738738 times and is very competitive in Family Feud (she would pick Maddie on her family team 10/10). Rachael took Maddie to all of her first concerts, and in return, Maddie plucked all of Rachael's gray hairs. An unbroken bond.
Bridesmaid
Maddie's sister-in-law, married to her brother Nate. Insanely talented musician/Broadway star living in New York City. The queen of cooking, baking, and the electric guitar. A total badass. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and spends her time rocking out on stage and on cruise ships. Debbie could and probably should open her own bakery (she made the cake AND macaroons for her own wedding!!!).
Bridesmaid
Maddie's best friend from Grand Rapids. Their friendship formed in 2008 when they would leave stupid videos on each other's Facebook walls, obsess over the show Glee, and get Slurpees from 7/11 on the reg. Catalina (nickname that has zero meaning) can make Maddie laugh harder than anyone and has been there through every obstacle, cry-fest, achievement and triumph. Katie up and moved to New York City DURING A PANDEMIC because she she was ready for something new, and now she is thriving. Her hugs are so strong she'll break your ribs, her voicemail box is always full, and her singing voice can make a grown man cry.
Bridesmaid
Maddie's best friend from childhood, copyright 1994. A childhood friendship filled with beanie babies, dress up, the chicken pox, and dance parties to The Spice Girls (Maddie still calls dibs on Baby Spice). Candice attended MSU with Maddie and is now married herself, which is weird because that means we're old. Candice is a full-time nurse and full-time cat mom! Her best trait is her ability to remember every event in her friends' lives, always sending hand-written cards and novel text messages. A true best friend for life.
Bridesmaid
Maddie's best friend from Michigan State. Lauren lived with Maddie for 3 years in college - our hobbies included feasting on Insomnia Cookies at 2 AM, drinking at PT O'Malley's, attending football games together and tailgating on the sun porch (all of these hobbies involve drinking). Lauren is a lover of dogs, marathons, and stale Teddy Grahams. She is a full-time nurse and currently lives right down the street from Maddie in Chicago, which honestly THANK GOD because she's the best of the best.
Bridesmaid
Maddie's best friend from Disney World. Rachel and Maddie found each other on Facebook before their Disney internship and decided that their love for the B1G 10 was enough to become roommates. After several rides on Space Mountain and Nutella waffles from Magic Kingdom, they became best friends. This marathon-running vegan currently lives near Orlando and is Maddie's better half (sorry Eddie). It's safe to say both of them will retire together and be park greeters at Walt Disney World.
Junior Bridesmaid
Maddie's niece, daughter of Rachael and Hung. This spunky 9 year old has the purest heart and kindest soul. Avery loves Harry Potter, crafts, sewing, soup dumplings, candy, and her friends. She is the queen of third grade.
Ring Bearer
Maddie's nephew, son of Rachael and Hung. This mischievous 5-year old is full of energy, often showing off his super powers, playing with Legos, and talking your ear off about his favorite show (which changes every other week). He's best pals with his dog, Bingo.
Best Man
Eddie's oldest brother and craziest Chicago sports fan. He's at his finest during the Bears season - if you don't believe us, follow him on Twitter @MDiazdeLeon15. Mike graduated from Bradley University where he enlightened Eddie with God's finest beer...HAMS. Mike has many talents, one being that he can eat an entire bag of Oreos in one sitting. Most importantly, he is Eddie's best friend.
Groomsman
Eddie's youngest brother and quite possibly the purest soul of the Diaz De Leon brothers. Johnny is a freshman at Joliet Junior College and enjoys helping those in need by attending Catholic youth trips, social events, and volunteering. Johnny's most impressive trait is his mastery at video games - he can kick your ass, I promise. He plans on pursing video game design for his future occupation and will be more successful in life than anyone reading this blurb. Him and Eddie share Spongebob memes on the reg, and Eddie's lucky to have him.
Groomsman
Eddie's cousin he grew up with when visiting Mexico. Omar seeks adventure and has an itch to travel, from backpacking through Europe to a caravan in Alaska. Eddie and Omar share many memories, including childhood memories in Mexico, living with Eddie for 6 months in Chicago and partying in Iowa City. Eduardo's unofficial third brother.
Groomsman
Andres is Eddie's cousin from Mexico. Andres is currently an architect in Aguascalientes, Mexico and loves building/working on architectural projects. Eddie grew up visiting Andres in Mexico, playing soccer, and being reckless on the farm. NOT single, sorry gals. Eddie's fifth unofficial brother.
Groomsman
Emilio is Eddie's cousin from Mexico (they never end). Emilio is the youngest of the cousins but is currently in high school breaking hearts left and right. He is also an avid Necaxa fan and attends almost every game with Pepul. He may ask for tequila shots at the wedding, DO NOT OBLIGE despite his charm and wit. Eddie's sixth unofficial brother.
Groomsman
Nate is Maddie's brother. Nate is a non-hispanic groomsman, but he is an honorary hispanic at heart. Nate lives in NYC and spends his life on stage - one of his most prestigious accolades being his Broadway debut in 2017 with 'Bandstand.' Nate's talents include celebrity impersonations, stand-up comedy, and dueling piano. Eddie's seventh unofficial brother, BUT NOT FOR LONG LET'S GOOOOO
Groomsman
Husband to Maddie's sister, Rachael and father to Avery and Taylor. Hung is an avid golfer, a beer connoisseur, and the most tech-saavy individual you will ever meet. Can't connect your phone to your television to your computer BACK to your television? Hung's your guy. This former Iowa Hawkeye (no, really, he was Herky the Hawkeye at Iowa) was the FIRST member of the Hopkins family melting pot and paved the way for Debbie and Eduardo to join this very, very white family. He's hilarious and the perfect dad.
