Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Daytona International airport is 25 minutes from our area and a very easy in and out (similar size to Bradley in CT). MCO is 1 hour ten minutes from our home and similar to a NY airport with shuttles from terminals to get to curbside transport.

Suggestions for Airport transportation?

Answer

We have had friends get great prices with Uber. There is a local service that you can arrange. B’On Time Concierge Call in Advance 1-386-314-7876 If you’d like a rental car for the duration of your stay, there are numerous rental options at each airport. Costco travel has cars as low as $55 a day (during week of wedding as of 7/11). If you do not have a Costco membership, contact Kathie to set up a reservation under her account (203-804-9990).

Directions to the venue from US1 & Downtown NSB

Answer

If using a gps, do not select the venue name. It will take you to the wrong location (private home of owners). Instead, enter the actual address: 1701 Tionia Road New Smyrna Beach FL 32168. Do not use Waze! US 1 & downtown New Smyrna Beach: *From US 1 south make a right onto a Turnbull Bay Road *From US 1 north make a left onto a Turnbull Bay Road (there’s a Dollar General on the corner) Proceed down this road and make a right before you get to the railroad tracks. This road is also a Turnbull Bay Rd. Continue down Turnbull Bay Road past the airport, past the ball-field and over a small bridge. This road will continue and take a sharp left curve. Continue down the road past Turnbull Estates on the right, and then a slight left turn over the railroad tracks. Our road is Tionia Road and it will be the first road on your left hand side. Once On Tionia rd. we are on the left-hand side. Just beyond the better barricades business. Our sign is slightly off the road.

Do not use Waze! From sr 44 and 95: Take State Road 44 E. Turn left on Sugar Mill Drive. At the 4 way stop sign turn left onto Pioneer Trail Turn right onto Turnbull Bay Road. Go down a couple of miles and then turn right onto Tionia Road. (Hitting railroad tracks mean you went too far) Once On Tionia rd., venue is on the left-hand side. Just beyond the better barricades business. The sign is slightly off the road.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

Yes! There is an outdoor chapel on site. We will have our ceremony, cocktail hours, dinner, and dancing all at The Delamater House.

What will the weather be like in October?

Answer

Florida weather is unpredictable. Even days that forecast rain may only have a few short showers. October is the end of hurricane season here. We decided to take the risk of a hurricane and move our wedding to October, rather than have so many special people not be able to come for our original date of March 7th. So…say a prayer for great weather! Here is some info on the average temps in NSB in October: Average Weather in October in New Smyrna Beach Florida, United States Daily high temperatures decrease by 5°F, from 83°F to 78°F, rarely falling below 72°F or exceeding 86°F. Daily low temperatures decrease by 6°F, from 73°F to 67°F, rarely falling below 58°F or exceeding 76°F. For reference, on July 24, the hottest day of the year, temperatures in New Smyrna Beach typically range from 76°F to 88°F, while on January 18, the coldest day of the year, they range from 53°F to 68°F.

Is this wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

This wedding is entirely outside. The chapel is outside. The barn area where dancing will be held is open on 4 sides. We will be eating in their outdoor dining room which is covered but no walls. Pray for great weather! Dress for possible heat during the ceremony and possible chillier temps into the evening. We will get married under the pavilion if there is too much rain. So come rain or shine!!

We are excited to share our new tropical home with all of our friends and family from CT. The Delamater House has beautiful lush gardens that perfectly showcase so many of the beautiful tropical plants Florida offers. Bridesmaids will be wearing dark green. Groomsmen will be wearing beige. We can’t wait for you to come!
