Travel Note
Please stay in or around Akaroa. We want people to be able to enjoy the wedding day without having to worry about travel logistics and dance the night away (until 1am). We are able to have a few people to stay at the venue (this will be obvious on the invitation). We would love to have everyone stay but for those who we can't accomodate, we have some ideas below. For those who are staying at Mt Vernon Lodge the cost is $75/pp per night (payable on arrival). We are putting on transport back into Akaroa at the end of the night in shuttles from the venue, but we aren't putting any transport on from Christchurch or from Akaroa up to the venue. Please car pool up to the venue on the Saturday arvo. There is plenty of parking at the venue. We've found some potential spots below :)
Flight
You will need to get yourself to Christchurch airport, Akaroa is about a 1.5 hour drive from Christchurch in the middle of Banks Peninsula.
Travel Note
We are expecting people to stay in Akaroa, so we aren't putting on buses from Christchurch. We'll organise vans from the venue back to Akaroa town to the venue at the end of the night. There is one bus company that does a return ticket from Christchurch to Akaroa for $70NZD/pp leaving Christchurch at 9AM, arriving in Akaroa at 11 AM and returning at 4PM from Akaroa. However, we would recommend you go via car as it'll be much easier at either end and won't leave you having to look at french souvenir shops for half the day on the Sunday. Mt. Vernon Lodge is around a 20-30 minute walk from town up the hill.
