We recommend staying in Akaroa from Friday to Sunday. We will have welcome drinks and fish n' chips on Friday 19 February at 6pm at Mt Vernon Lodge. On the Saturday we will put on shuttles from Akaroa to Mt Vernon Lodge at from around midday. We would like everyone at the venue by 2pm.
Summer wedding vibes. Men: A blazer but no tie and nice shoes vibe Ladies: a nice dress but no fascinators (it's not that posh).
Yes, there are heaps of park spots at Mt. Vernon Lodge. The main car park is right up the top so keep going until you're looking at a hillside.
We think your presence is more than enough of a present to us without gifts. However, for those who would like to give a gift, we will work on a registry closer to the time.
Probably not, but please ask.
Yes on Friday and Sunday. No on Saturday. Here's some links for babysitters in Akaroa: https://www.akaroatradies.co.nz/akaroa-babysitting.html
We understand people will want to take pictures with their phones, but we have disposable cameras and camcorders, which are way cooler. We reckon keep phones to a minimum, go analogue for a day, and enjoy the moment.
We would love to have everyone stay, but unfortunately accomodation at Mt Vernon is limited. The cost is $75pp/per night ($150pp for the weekend). It will be payable to Mt Vernon Lodge on arrival. The accommodation is a mix of The Lodge, which sleeps 24 people in 6 rooms (a mix of King and single beds), and The Chalets (mostly bunk beds). https://mtvernon.co.nz/the-lodge/ https://mtvernon.co.nz/the-chalets/ If you would prefer to organise your own accomodation then please just let us know.
Please carpool up to the venue at the start of Saturday. We will be running mini-vans from the venue to Akaroa township, which is around a 20-30 min walk (1.5km) away, from 23:00 to 01:00.
