We're recommending cocktail attire for the wedding ceremony and reception, but your comfort is important to us! Wear what you'll feel best in. Note that in July, the average high is 78 degrees and the average low is 50, so we recommend bringing a jacket for the evening hours.
Due to a limited venue capacity, we hope you appreciate that children are only invited to the ceremony and reception if named on your invite. We love your children, and are excited to have them at the other weekend events. We are happy to help find local childcare providers if needed. We appreciate your understanding and are looking forward to hosting you at our wedding!
We are so excited to celebrate this day with our favorite people! As we have a strict venue capacity, we can only accommodate guests who were invited by name. Thank you for understanding!
We do recommend renting a car or carpooling with your friends to get to Port Townsend. A shuttle option is available from the airport if you are meeting folks with cars once you get to PT!
We will have a shuttle running from Fort Worden to the wedding venue and back - a detailed schedule will be provided closer to the wedding. The Bishop Hotel is 2 blocks from the venue, and the Swan is literally across the street, so guests staying at these locations should plan on a lovely little stroll to the Maritime Center. Note: parking is extremely limited by the Maritime Center (especially on a holiday weekend), and we want you to safely enjoy the festivities, so please plan to take a shuttle or walk if possible.
The parking by the wedding venue is extremely limited, and we do not recommend driving unless necessary. If you're staying at one of the recommended hotels we suggest walking. For guests staying at Fort Worden, there will be a shuttle service available to get you safely to and from the venue.
Historically, August 31st in Port Townsend should be about 70 and sunny during the day, and about 50 degrees at night. Layers are key! The weather can be a bit variable this time of year, with occasional storms or hot/cold spells, so please be attentive to the weather closer to the date.
We are hoping that Labor Day on Monday gives folks more time to relax and explore the local area, or to fly back home with less of a time crunch. We know PT is far for pretty much everyone, and appreciate you all making the trip. All rooms are blocked from 8/30-9/1, but likely the hotels will have more availability if you want to come early or stay late. We will have some optional, very casual things planned for Sunday for anyone who is staying through Monday. If you want ideas on exploring the Olympic Peninsula or Washington as a whole, let us know as we'd love to share!
The welcome dinner and the wedding ceremony/reception are both accessible for those with limited mobility. Both events will be a combination of indoor and outdoor, with level paved ground outside and wheelchair lifts and elevators on the inside. Please note, PT is a really old town -- not every shop or restaurant in town is accessible. If you need accommodation in your housing and we have not already been in touch about this, please let us know. We're happy to talk through details with you.
