Best day ever

On January 27th, 2018, our relationship sparked with the swipe of a finger and a match. Sarah messaged Alex immediately and after a whole day of thinking about it, he finally replied. We got to talking and after some time, Alex asked Sarah on a date. Sarah threw out some ideas of restaurants and Alex picked On the Border. While the food wasn't great, the company and conversations were. From that date on, we were pretty much inseparable, even much so that Sarah endured a third date at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. After a few short weeks, Alex asked Sarah to be his girlfriend. Over the next few years, we shared our love and support for each other's passions including Disney, IndyCar, hockey and wedding planning (before we were engaged).

On April 3rd, 2021, we were meeting up with two friends (Noah and Jessica) for lunch at the canal in Downtown Indianapolis. Noah and Jessica were in town for Easter weekend and had been texting us about lunch plans the weeks leading up. On the day of, Sarah was stressed out because we were running late to our plans and everyone knows she hates being late. Jessica had texted Sarah that they parked at the White River garage, which she thought was peculiar given the restaurant Jessica had chosen for lunch was at the other end of the canal, but Sarah didn't think much of it. When Sarah and Alex arrived, Noah and Jessica were riding electric scooters and ended up by White River State Park at the back of the Indy zoo, which happens to be Sarah's favorite spot in the city. When Sarah and Alex got over there by foot, we noticed that someone had laid out Easter eggs for an egg hunt. Sarah was extremely concerned and mentioned that they should probably get out of the way because someone's parent had spent the time to set these out and were probably approaching soon. Noah, Jessica and Alex started opening the eggs and Sarah was panicking. She started telling them to stop as they were trying to get her to open the eggs. Jessica distracted her and when she turned around, Alex was on one knee with a golden egg in his hand. He then opened it and proceeded to ask Sarah to marry him. She said yes!
