The classic story of boy meets girl at a work softball game, girl thinks boy hates her because of her poor hand-eye coordination in the outfield, boy actually thinks girl is pretty cute. The rest is history.

On July 3rd, 2016, Luke & Grace went from "work friends" to actual friends over a pre-fireworks BBQ at William Hill Estate Winery - one of the wineries they both have worked at. There's a long story about an heirloom pie pan, a missing pie, and more than a little flirtation - but you'll have to hear that story in person. On July 3rd, 2018, the two year anniversary of that friendship taking off, Luke & Grace went back to William Hill to share some wine and pie at sunset. After Luke pounded a glass of 2006 William Hill Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon (the same wine he brought to their first date in San Francisco), he suggested a walk through the vineyard. Down a little knoll of vines, Grace noticed a suit jacket hanging on a grapevine. Knowing Luke, none of you should be surprised that her first reaction was, "Of course you have a jacket conveniently placed in a vineyard. Why wouldn't you have a jacket in a vineyard." (The guy is fancy and always prepared, ok? It's not that far of a reach). As he put on the jacket though, she realized that her logic was not, in fact, logical. Luke grabbed Grace's hands, said a million wonderful things (ask him if you want to know what he said - Grace blacked out. All she can remember is the massive, adorable smile on his face), and asked her to spend forever with him. Two years to the date from their first moment of genuine friendship, in the same place, looking out over the same view, they decided that together sounded like the perfect way to spend forever.
