No, given that Midnight Ranch is located in a rather remote and unpopulated area, there are not many standard hotel options nearby, so please feel free to stay wherever works best for you and your party. Please see our Travel page for many excellent suggestions. Definitely consider booking ASAP to ensure you have your first choice!
OVERALL DRESS: Smart casual (aka just wear something that our children won't make fun of when looking at our wedding album.) SHOES: If you want to help Midnight Ranch aerate their grass, then by all means wear heels! However, if you didn't come to the wedding to do landscaping, then we'd suggest flats or wedges for the ladies. SOMETHING WARM: Weather will most likely be sunny and in the high 70s, but keep an eye on the forecast! Once the sun goes down the temperature can drop quickly, so a jacket is recommended. The beer and wine should help keep you warm as well.
Children are more than welcome to join us in the celebration! While the wedding will be in a remote location without cell service or internet, we are hoping that kids (and the adults) will enjoy playing in the great outdoors.
Yes! You can tent camp or RV camp at Midnight Ranch. We have a limit of 10 tent sites (for the night of the wedding/reception on 8/10/19 only) and 10 self-contained RV camp sites (for the whole weekend). There will be porta potties on site, but unfortunately you will not have access to showers. Please let us know if you plan to camp via RSVP online. For more info, contact Rachel or Matt. Must let Matt and Rachel know you are wanting to camp at least two weeks before the wedding.
If your formal invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Yes! If you want to make a long weekend out of the trip, we will be in the Steamboat Springs area Friday - Monday and are planning some fun group meet-ups. We will post more about what is planned on this website as we finalize the details but look forward to activities such as; group hikes, hot springs soaking, canoe races, and more!
Part of the beauty of Midnight Ranch is the quiet and peaceful remoteness of the location! This means there will be no cellular or internet service at the Ranch, so please use the day as a rare opportunity to go "off the grid", set your phone aside, and unwind!
Unfortunately, our venue only allows the bride and groom's dog to stay at the Ranch and attend the wedding. Apparently there were some issues in the past with "roving hoards of dogs" filling the field with "doggie doo doo land mines" - Steve's words, not ours! Well, "doggie doo doo land mines" is our family-friendly rewording of the owner's description :) Please plan to make arrangements for your pup to stay home or board somewhere. Sorry!
Yes! Bring your gear and fish the private 10 acre stocked lake at Midnight Ranch. Catch & Release only.
