Rachel and Matt met on a group snowshoeing trip in the Colorado Rocky Mountains one frigid January morning in 2014. When Rachel arrived at Matt’s house to start the long drive to Guanella Pass, she instantly fell head over heels in love…with Matt’s two handsome and irresistibly charming dogs, Cody and Ben.

Fast-forward to September 2015; their friendship and mutually hidden crush on each other finally became something more, starting with the simple question, “wanna go on a hike?” That hike led to a stop at their favorite brewery (Odell Brewing Co.), which led to an evening of wine, cheese, and handmade beer ice cream (on the house!) at their now favorite local bistro, The Welsh Rabbit, which led to backyard stargazing, and their first kiss.

Fast-forward again to late August 2017; Rachel and Matt, having recently moved to the Washington, D.C.-area, take a trip back to Colorado, and on the banks of the Yampa River, Matt nervously took a knee and asked Rachel “will you make me the happiest person in the world?” To which she replied, “what hand does it go on?”

Rachel & Matt will be tying the knot on August 10, 2019 at Midnight Ranch outside out Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The ceremony will be at 4:30 (please arrive at 4:00) followed by a drinks, dinner, dancing, and dessert!
