Although our wedding is out in the suburbs, we highly recommend guests head into Chicago if they have extra days in town! Some of our favorite things to do include the boat architecture tour, wrigleyville bars like sluggers, Pequod's pizza, the riverwalk, Lake Shore Drive and the beaches along it, Millenium Park, Kingston Mines, & getting a chicago style hot dog! Those with multiple days in the city should look into the Chicago City Pass to save on museum admission fees. The Art Institute and Field Museum are two of our favorites.
We are so excited for you to have the chance to explore the Western Suburbs of Chicago. Lucy grew up in Batavia, Illinois, just a few towns over from where our wedding will be taking place in Elburn. Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles are all along the Fox River and have great, walkable downtowns. Some places to see if you have time are Kuiper's Farm for apple picking, Graham's Ice Cream, the Batavia Comedy Vault, Fermilab, the Fox River Trail, and the Riverwalk in Naperville. For those new to the Midwest, try checking out a corn maze or some WhirlyBall and be on the lookout for local fall festivals, like Pumpkin Daze at Abbey Farms.
