We met at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign while both studying civil engineering. Although we likely crossed paths earlier in our college careers, it wasn't until our junior year, when we both joined the exec board for our school's chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, that we became friends. It was clear we both knew how to have a good time together and we were also both involved in Greek life, so naturally our first few dates involved inviting each other to bar crawls and barn dances. Eventually, the relationship became official and we proceeded to fall in love. We both finished out our Bachelor's and then Master's degrees at UIUC and when it came time to finding jobs, we agreed that New York City would be the best fit for starting our lives together. Since then, we have had many adventures together. We are always exploring the city and traveling to other states and countries. We learned we truly were each other's favorite person after surviving COVID-19 lockdowns in our tiny first apartment together in the East Village. We have continued to share in our competitive natures and our love of sports through participation in intramural leagues, climbing mountains together, and running the NYC marathon. Not to mention the numerous Mets games attended and memorabilia scattered throughout our apartment. Throughout the last 7 years that we have spent together, we have been so fortunate to be surrounded by so many friends and family. Each and every person in our lives has been an integral part of our love story in their own unique ways. Many of you have seen firsthand the inseparable bond we have together, but many of you may also only know one of us. Whatever your story is, just know you have had an impact on our lives and we wouldn't want to celebrate our wedding day without you!
