Flight Options

You will be flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Common airlines that fly to Vancouver, BC, Canada are Air Canada, Qantas, Air New Zealand and United Airlines. Direct flights from Australia to Vancouver often operate from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane through Air Canada or Qantas. If flying through the U.S. there are often direct flights from Australia to western cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Honolulu, and have connecting flights onwards to Vancouver. These operate through United Airlines or Qantas. If flying through New Zealand, there are direct flights from Auckland to Vancouver through Air New Zealand. The cheapest and most direct flights from our experience are generally Air Canada and Qantas.

Accomodation Options

The Greater Vancouver Area has a population of 3 million people, and there are various suburbs that you could consider staying in for your visit. The Sangha Residence is located in Surrey, BC, approximately 35km from Downtown Vancouver. Please note the wedding events are held across several different cities within The Greater Vancouver region. Staying in Downtown Vancouver is an option given it is closer for tourist activities, however, please note that there may be longer travel times to our events especially for our civil ceremony in Coquitlam. This is especially the case for staying in West or North Vancouver, given you will have to travel across the main bridge to return back to Surrey/Coquitlam/Vancouver, which can be affected by significant traffic (this is despite it being a beautiful location). Please also be mindful that the FIFA WorldCup will be held in North America/Mexico in June-July 2026, and there will be some events scheduled in Vancouver, BC, that could affect accommodation availability and pricing. Options for accommodation include Airbnb or Hotels. Airbnb rentals appear to have more availability and be more reasonably priced. Hotels in the area of Surrey, BC are the following: - Civic Hotel, Surrey - Sheraton Guildford, Surrey - Holiday Inn, Surrey Other hotels suggestions in nearby cities are the following: - Holiday Inn, Metro-town (Burnaby) - Holiday Inn, Vancouver-Centre Broadway Some of Lucas's family have arranged accomodation at the Civic Hotel in Surrey, however, this was only able to be booked via direct phone call as booking.com showed limited availability.
