We would love for you to celebrate all week with us, but we understand if that is not possible. If you had to pick and choose, we would love for you to attend our two wedding events on the 8th and 9th of July 2026.
Men are often off the hook with Indian attire, but may consider wearing an outfit to the Jaggo party. Otherwise, western attire is more than appropriate and is worn by the majority of guests. Women have it a bit more complicated. The majority of guests from Canada will be wearing Indian attire throughout the entire week, however, wearing Indian dress is optional. If you are wishing to wear an Indian dress to the temple, please avoid wearing a lehnga or a saree as they are not appropriate. However, any type of Indian attire can be worn at the Jaggo party and bright colours are encouraged. If you do not wish to wear Indian attire, please be mindful at the temple you will need to be wearing modest attire with shoulders covered. Please remember you will be seated on the floor so please ensure the length of your outfit is appropriate.
Please be respectful as the temple is a holy space. Before entering the prayer hall, guests remove their shoes and cover their heads. When entering the prayer hall, walk up to the Guru Granth Sahib (the holy book) to kneel and bow your heads, and please give a coin donation. After doing this, please sit respectfully on the floor, with men and women seated apart and wait until the ceremony starts.
