Why Scotland? And why in rainy October?

Answer

Immediately upon arrival to Scotland, it felt like home. What began as a trip for Chey's birthday turned into a trip that became memorable for an entirely different reason. It was Chey's first trip abroad, and Luke, with his quiet determination, demanded that it be memorable in every aspect. On October 27, prior to a downpour, Luke proposed. When attempting to find a venue back home, nothing felt right. It was Lucas who stated, "Why not try something in Scotland, it could be a really nice full circle moment." A comment meant to be a joke, turned into some serious searching, and the perfect venue appeared almost out of thin air. Some things are just meant to be. Also, side note, both of us fought back tears when it came time to return home from Scotland, as we never wanted to leave this magical land.

What if I can't make it to Scotland?

Answer

There is no need to fear missing out! We will be having a big celebration next year, so that we can celebrate with everyone who was unable to attend the wedding! Also, we will be able to Facebook Livestream the wedding, so you are able to watch it from home!

What is the dress code?

Answer

First and foremost, we want all of our guests to be comfortable. With that said, the venue is a castle... Our wedding colors are a dark green, so we suggest that unless someone is in the wedding party, that they avoid that color. The feeling that we are going for is elegant and timeless. We feel that most people would probably feel comfortable and not out of place by dressing their best.

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

From the castle, each airport is about the following distance, via car: Edinburgh airport will be about a 2 hour drive Aberdeen International Airport is about 40 minutes Inverness Airport is about 2 hours and 40 minutes Glasgow International Airport is about 2 and a half hours

Are there any airlines you do not recommend?

Answer

Yes. Whatever you do, DO NOT fly via Aer Lingus!!! We promise you will regret it.

What time is check-out?

Answer

All guests within the castle and grounds must check out by Thursday, October 16th before 10:45am.

What is the currency, and what is the current conversion rate?

Answer

The current US Dollar is currently worth about 0.82 British pounds.

What if I want to do something that is not listed on the registry, or I want to do something smaller?

Answer

Absolutely of course! Feel free to do as much, or as little, as you would like. We are just excited that others will be a big part of our day! We are mostly interested in experiences; however, you are always welcome to do whatever you wish!

Is it child friendly?

Answer

Unfortunately, we will be having a child-free wedding. However, we look forward to seeing the kids at our celebration next year!
