Lucas, knowing that in some areas, Cheyenne can be quite traditional, called her father to ask if he was home. Luke, Jim, and Sherri went outside when he arrived. At that time, all Lucas could think was, "Oh great, now I have to ask BOTH of them this. This was already nerve-wracking." He then told both of them that he planned on proposing during their upcoming trip to Scotland and showed them the ring. Luke reports that both parents seemed delighted and happy to have Lucas join the family. Jim commented, "Well, she could still say no. She has to say 'yes' first." Then, Luke's face dropped before he laughed, as he had never considered the possibility of her saying "no." He was reminded that she would marry him, and he felt better about the upcoming trip.
It had been vehemently decided by Chey that the itinerary for the day would consist of the Old Man of Storr. After driving by it for a few days on the way to other sights, she didn't want to wait another hour to go hike around the area. Naturally, she picked the foggiest day, with rain on the way (not that she cared- she'd be happy to stand in it all day), and a location that had to have only put in so many stairs just to torture people. By the time the two arrived to the creags, the bottom of the Old Mann, both were out of breath due to their stupidity of racing each other up the stairs. (Trust me, nobody won.) It was then, in the rain, that they sat down on some rocks facing the pillars of stone and looking out over a nearby loch. Lucas asked Cheyenne to turn around, and when she did, he was in front of her with a ring, and asked, "Will you let me be your forever shitty hiking partner?" She said, "yes."
