Travel + Accommodation

Please see below for travel and accommodation recommendations. All travel guidance is to Waterloo and nearby tube stations (Southwark Station and Lambeth North Station), the area in which the two recommended hotels are located. If you are traveling with fewer than three people, we recommend using public transportation from the airports to the city center, as Uber - while available - can be at least £60 one way. Feel free to research other lodging in the Waterloo area and/or with easy access to the Northern Line, as well as Airbnbs--especially for groups with four or more people!

Flight

Heathrow Airport

*If flight prices are comparable between Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport, we recommend flying into Heathrow Airport (as it is better signposted/easier to navigate). *Once you land, follow signs for the "Underground" (the tube) or "Heathrow Express" depending upon which option you choose from the below. Option 1 (simplest): Take the Elizabeth Line (purple) to Bond Street station. Change to the southbound Jubilee Line (silver) to Waterloo or Southwark station. Option 2 (cheapest): Take the Piccadilly Line (navy) to Green Park station. Change to the southbound Jubilee Line (silver) to Waterloo or Southwark station. Option 3 (fastest): Take the Heathrow Express (also purple) to Paddington station. You can either take an Uber to the Waterloo area (if you're managing a lot of luggage) OR change to the southbound Bakerloo Line (brown) to Waterloo or Lambeth North station. Children under 15 years old travel for free (must show valid flight booking or boarding pass).

Flight

London Gatwick Airport

Option 1: Take the northbound Thameslink Line (purple) to London Bridge. Change to the westbound Jubilee Line (silver) to Southwark or Waterloo station. Option 2: Take the northbound Southern Line (royal green and yellow) to Clapham Junction station. Change to the northbound South Western Railway Line (navy) to Waterloo Station. DO NOT TAKE THE GATWICK EXPRESS

Train

King's Cross St. Pancras International

Take the southbound Piccadilly Line (navy) to Piccadilly Circus station. Change to the southbound Bakerloo Line (brown) to Waterloo or Lambeth North station.
