Our story began in London - where Jordan moved in 2018 to start her master's degree in international social policy. Within her first month, she auditioned for SOUND, a soulful London choir, and guess who she met at her first rehearsal, chatting away in the tenor section...Thomas! When Jordan asked if anyone had any recommendations for a trip to Scotland, Thomas's hand flew into the air! He then proceeded to inundate Jordan with enough recommendations to last her a lifetime, never mind one weekend! From strolling along the South Bank and wandering through Christmas markets to ice skating at the Museum of Natural History, they loved exploring London together and connecting over shared interests - from Stevie Wonder and speakeasies to sweet treats and spontaneous travel - the latter realization leading to a friendly competition over who had been to more countries - Jordan won, but whoâs counting! đ€Ș And when Jordan realized she had found a partner who genuinely loved romantic comedies - with his favorite being âHow to Lose a Guy in 10 Daysâ - she knew she had found a keeper. đ
Their relationship took some twists and turns though in the first year - Thomas was stuck working on overnight shifts, Jordan ended up in a UK hospital with a ruptured appendix, and six months later the world ended up in a global pandemic. Jordan and Thomas moved in with his aunt and young cousins during the pandemic - from introducing Taco Tuesdays and escape rooms to the girls to dissertation writing to frantic grocery runs, Jordan and Thomas truly became a team in more ways than one. In 2021, Thomas and Jordan began a new adventure and moved to NYC - as Thomas was starting his master's degree in journalism at Columbia University. They made new friends, reconnected with old ones, ate their weight in pizza and only got lost on the subway once (WIN!) Less than a year later though, Thomas landed his dream job as a producer with NPR, so they headed north to Boston.
After being on the new job for only one month, Thomas made the local news when he helped passengers escape from a burning train during his morning commute (#hometownhero). đ That same month, Jordan and Thomas became pawrents to their loving rescue pup Ruby, continued to sing together in a local cappella group (VoiceLab!), and became (unofficial) craft cocktail mixologists and British crime drama fanatics. They continued to learn from each other as well - Thomas became a spa enthusiast and Jordan learned to appreciate watching Saturday morning international cycling races (sort of). And on a bright, sunny Sunday morning in November 2023, after convincing a sleepy and reluctant Jordan to take Ruby for a long walk BEFORE breakfast, Thomas popped the question at one of Jordanâs favorite childhood spots - Jordan said âYes!â and Ruby said âFinally!â Thomas had even planned a surprise engagement party with Jordanâs parents and some local friends. đ„° We are SO excited to celebrate our marriage with so many of our closest friends and family in the city where we first fell in love. Cheers, and see ya soon! đ
