A very walkable village with some restaurants and shopping. Some favorite spots include Karin's (of course, as it's the bride's place of work) and Alpine Kind for unique gifts and The Golden Eagle Inn and Blue Moose Pizza for yummy bites. For dining, call ahead, as some restaurants may be closed for the "shoulder season."
Some favorite hikes and walks for Matt and Ashlyn include June Creek Trail in Edwards, the Village to Village in Beaver Creek, the path along Eagle River from Avon to Edwards, and the loop around Nottingham Lake in Avon. And the Gore Creek Trail in Minturn is where the couple took their engagement photos! AllTrails is a great resource to find trails based on your location and skill level.
In the Riverwalk shopping area, you'll find lots of fun boutiques and delicious restaurants. Ptarmigan Sports will cover your outdoor needs and Valley Girl/Ruby Jane are fun boutiques. Zino Ristorante offers authentic Italian (and a mussel night!) and The Rose has a menu full of unique cocktails and eats. Just across the traffic circle, in the Four Corners area, Harrison & Hovey is great for coffee and pastries or a sit-down lunch. And The Drunken Goat is a favorite date spot for the couple!
From Lionshead to Vail Village, there are lots of shops and restaurants to visit and trails on the mountain to bike and hike. Gorsuch is a must-see, if only to browse their incredible homewares on the bottom level, and Pepi's Bar and Restaurant is a Vail institution. Be sure to check out Kemo Sabe for all your western wear essentials and The Golden Bear for the famous eponymous jewelry.
If you'll still be in town and have kiddos with you (or not!), head to the Minturn Town Hall on Saturday, October 29th for their annual Halloween celebration. Starting at 5pm till 8pm, there will be community trick-or-treating and photo ops.
