Ashlyn and Matthew met in September 2019 at a yoga event hosted by their mutual friend Hillary. Ashlyn says she could sense Matthew's attention from the start, but they didn't exchange information and they went their separate ways. They reconnected at the end of November on the dating app Hinge and they then went on their first date days later in December. And, the rest is history, as they say - especially as the Covid-19 pandemic was about to rock everyone's worlds!

Ellis Lovejoy Stovall came into his parents' lives quite unexpectedly - in more ways than one - but Ashlyn and Matthew wouldn't change a thing! In December 2020, Ashlyn and Matthew discovered that they were expecting a little bundle, due at the end of July 2021. Ellis rushed into the world 7.5 weeks early on June 10th. Ashlyn and Matthew fell immediately in love with him. He will be almost 17 months at the time of his parents' wedding and will have the distinct responsibility of being the ring bearer!

On the morning of Ellis's baptism on January 22, 2022, with family and friends in town to celebrate, Matthew proposed in a sweet and private moment. They then had Ellis's baptism and celebration afterwards where they announced their engagement. It was a beautiful and intimate weekend to celebrate two wonderful life events!
