Known as the "Huang Bros," Harvey and Tiger were fraternity housemates back in their college days. Frequently seen studying at the break of dawn at the Starbucks down the street, these two also treated their brothers to old Chinese songs at 2 AM in the morning, perhaps over a drink or three.

Jamison met Harvey on the job at Mayo Clinic. Technically, he actually met Harvey through his girlfriend Emily (Koons), who was in the same year of graduate school. They immediately hit it off over a shot of Malort and have been the best of friends ever since.

Taylor is a classmate-turned-dear-friend of Harvey since they both started MD-PhD in 2018. She then got to know Sunny as well and maintains that Sunny's time in Rochester unlocked the best chapter there, with regular trivia outings, board game nights until someone fell asleep, spontaneous dinner parties, and surprise visits to each other's houses.

Mike unknowingly became part of the crew when he encountered Harvey buying flowers for his proposal to Sunny. After Mike moved to Minnesota, they have since bonded over a mutual interest in Chinese-Minnesotan food, Gregorian chants, and their beloved cats.
