Things To Do

We are so excited to share some of our favorite places on the island with you!

Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary

81-6442 Punana Road, Kealakekua, HI 96750

We really enjoyed our visit to the parrot sanctuary. It is a really nice family that runs it and it has gorgeous views. We got to meet all of the birds and learned a lot about them!

Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park

99198 Crater Rim Dr, Mountain View, HI 96771

A little far from Waikoloa but worth the day trip! They have a restaurant there or you can bring lunch. If you are lucky the volcano may erupt while you are there!

Manta Ray Viewing at Mauna Kea Resort

62-100 Mauna Kea Beach Dr, Waimea, HI 96743

Our other favorite spot to view the mantas is under construction but we have heard you can view them at this hotel nearby! Let the guard attendant know you are there to see the mantas. The hotel has a lookout called the “Manta Ray Point” observation deck. The observation area is located ocean side near “Manta” Restaurant at Mauna Kea Beach Resort.

Kohala Na'alapa Stables

Highway 250 Mm 12, Waimea, HI 96743

We have done horseback riding here and it was super peaceful! Beautiful views cruising through their cattle ranch.

Heavenly Hawaiian Kona Coffee Farm Tours

78-1136 Bishop Road, Holualoa, HI 96725

We did a coffee tour with Heavenly Hawaiian Coffee Farm. It was very informative (but a little boring). They have cute farm cats and good coffee!

Fishing with Shoreline Adventures Kona

PX23+72, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740

Cody fished with this local guide and he loved it! The guy set up a picnic table with books and ice cold POG for B. They caught (and released) tons of native fish from the shore.
