Yes of course! We love your kids! Just make sure to add them when you RSVP through the paperless post invitation you received via email.
Sure thing! We 'd love to meet them! Just make sure to let us know when you RSVP!
Garden Attire, please. Wear sundresses, floral prints, suits in lighter hues, and fun hats and fascinators. We want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose. Tip: The terrace can get a little chilly at night - we recommend bringing a shawl or a light jacket.
The ceremony is scheduled for 8:00 pm so please arrive a few minutes earlier.
There is very limited parking next to the chapel. You should park on the main road and walk down the path to the chapel.
Please note that, for those of you without your own means of transportation, we will arrange transportation from Livadi to the wedding chapel. (we’ll arrange a mini bus)
Yes we are! Please check our registry for ideas!
As with all islands in Greece, there is very high demand and limited number of accommodation options. We recommend that you book as early as possible, as things will sell out very early in the year! We also recommend that you book in Livadi – or Livadakia (with a preference for the former). For any questions regrading accommodation and location, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Accommodation on Greek islands consist of both hotels and rooms for rent. Rooms for rent are typically many more than actual hotels, and is the most likely type of accommodation. Think of them as Airbnb… While in Serifos, you have three accommodation location options: Stay in Livadi/Livadakia. This makes things easier as you will be near the port, near the banks and shops (pharmacy, super market, restaurants, etc.), and near the car/bike rental place. We recommend that you stay in Livadi. Stay in Chora. This means that you will be staying at the beautiful village of Chora, with easy access to bars and coffee shops there, as well as a great view. However, you will definitely need a rental car if you want to visit the beach (and in order to come to the wedding!) Stay near one of the beaches. This is a good option for easy access to the beach, and for being at a quiet, secluded place. You would need a car to commute to Livadi/Livadakia/Chora.
The best way to book accommodation in Serifos is either through www.booking.com or through www.airbnb.com
The currency in Greece is the Euro. You may exchange foreign currency to Euro at the airport or a bank. However, we recommend withdrawing in Euro from an ATM, as this is easier and will probably give you a better rate. In most places you can use a VISA/MasterCard (AmEx is not accepted as much in Europe). In Serifos, there are two banks/ATMs and credit cards are accepted in most restaurants and shops.
Serifos is a small island but offers some great traditional or modern Greek entertainment options. Serifos has many nice restaurants and taverns. Being a couple that enjoys eating good food (as many of you probably know!), we have listed some of our recommendations under Things To Do! In terms of drinking and bars, the island offers just enough options for things to be fun. All coffee shops in Livadi turn into bars in the evening. Most of them stay open until 4:00am or later. The two main “hotspots” of the island are the Yacht club in Livadi, and a the bars in Chora. Petros' personal favorites (where we will be meeting with all of you for drinks before and after the wedding!) are the Yacht club and Vatrachos bar. See you all there!
For vegetarian and vegan friends, things are relatively easy in Greece. Most taverns and restaurants serve at least a few of the traditional Greek vegetarian dishes that are primarily based on vegetables and planty of olive oil. Some of the local delicacies of Serifos are also vegetarian – like the dishes based on fava beans, or the fired fennel/tomato balls. We 'll make sure to have some vegetarian/vegan options at the reception as well.
Tap water in Serifos is safe to use for showering and washing, but we would advise against drinking it. We recommend drinking bottled water. (contrary to this, tap water in Athens is very safe to drink).
Keep in mind that the island does have a few taxis, but they’re very few (3 or 4?) and in high demand during the peak season. Here are the phone numbers of a few taxi drivers on the island. Galanos Th. +306973801051 Gounaris G. +306944473044 Moustakas V. +306944908637 Halida P. +306932431114
You may call the police (dial 100 while in Greece), or an ambulance (dial 166), or the fire department (dial 199).
