Isabel and Philippe both attended Long Island University, studying similar professions; she studied Computer Science and he Information Systems. They both worked for the Information Technology department at the university. In their final year, they shared the same evening computer class. After class, they would hang out with their classmates. They both took an interest in one another, and eventually, Philippe would ask Isabel on a date. Their first date took place in the Meatball Shop in Brooklyn. They shared a wonderful friendship that built a strong connection which would later evolve into a relationship, and the rest is history. #PiLife

Originally, Philippe wanted to propose to Isabel under the sunset in Italy. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, traveling was restricted outside of the US and many restaurants were closed. That wouldn’t stop Philippe from reaching his goal to make the day memorable. With the help of his best man Jelani, they set up a plan to create a beautiful venue on the rooftop of their residence. As you could imagine, this would be a challenging to do without causing suspicion due to Isabel’s close proximity. On the big day, Philippe asked Isabel to go on a date night. Puzzled because she thought everything was closed, she questioned him and he responded that there is a place that was still opened. She said ok. Throughout the day, Philippe will come in & out of the apartment many times while Isabel watched her favorite tv show. Entertained by her show, did not notice anything. When everything was in order, Philippe insisted that they go up to the rooftop to look at the sunset before heading out. Confused because she didn't want to be late. He would reply that they had plenty of time and it was not an issue; it will only be a moment. Once they got to the rooftop her eyes widened to notice the dinner reservation was actually on their rooftop. Philippe would reveal that there were never dinner reservations as the restaurants were in fact closed, he created his own restaurant for her. They drank and socialized for a few hours as the sun set and the neighbors started their fireworks, illuminating the sky.. Philippe will then tell Isabel that he brought her a necklace but he wanted to put it on her instead of her opening the gift. He asked her to stand up and turn around while he attached the necklace around her neck. Isabel did just that, she turned around. Philippe would pretend to drop the necklace and get on one knee as he asked Isabel to turn around. Confused she turned around. To her surprise she would see Philippe on his knee with a diamond ring asking her “will you marry me?”
