Marlee
Maid of Honor
Marlee, the youngest of all the wedding party is the bride's 14 year old daughter. Marlee is a freshman at Derby High School, and burst onto that scene as a member of the Pantherettes Dance Team. Marlee has studied ballet for over 10 years, the last 7 with Sharon Rogers of Rogers Ballet. Her love of performance started with 6 years of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, playing many roles over the years. She is currently on pointe shoes, but loves the expressive nature of hip hop dance she gets to perform as a Pantherette. Marlee is also an athlete, and has won her age group in our local triathlon 3 years straight and is a varsity swimmer on the Derby High School swim team and competed at state. She also plays piano and ukulele for fun and cello for her high school orchestra.
Cole
Best Man
Cole is the youngest of the Hansen clan and will be Colin's best man. Cole entered KU School of Business this year as a member of KU's Honors Program and Business Leadership Program. He plans to major in Business Analytics. Cole can best be described as a quiet intellectual and has cracked the code on good study habits. Cole has dabbled in viola, piano and guitar, but currently prefers rap and hip hop music to most other music genres. He is a soccer aficionado, a quality nurtured by his soccer-crazed father, and a coffee enthusiast, which is a boon for all of us. His curious mind keeps us on our intellectual toes and reading some pretty awesome books.
Magnus
Bridesman
Magnus is a Derby High School sophomore, and second son of the bride. Magnus is a 3 sport varsity athlete (cross country, swimming & track), a member of the prestigious Derby High Marching Band drum line, and a percussion District Band selectee both his freshman and sophomore years. Magnus also plays piano for the jazz ensemble. Magnus continues with private drum and piano lessons. Magnus has done a few triathlons, always managing to win his age group. He participates in the Star Wars club after school, a Dungeons & Dragons class, and in goofy antics with his friends and would describe himself as the life of any party...this would be difficult to dispute.
Olivia
Groomswoman
Olivia is Colin's second daughter, a junior at the University of Kansas studying Speech and Language Pathology. Olivia has a knack for making friends, making art, making waves, and always making things more interesting. Olivia, aka Liv, studied abroad in Australia last semester at the University of Newcastle (July-Dec 2018) and had many, many fun adventures while there, the most notable being a side trip to New Zealand with friends that included sky diving. She was recently invited into the Honors Research program for Speech and Language Pathology at KU and plans to pursue a graduate degree in her field.
Liam
Bridesman
Lorraine's oldest son, Liam, 22, will graduate in May from the University of Kansas as a Self Fellow Scholar with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and a minor in Communications from the College of Liberal Arts. Liam is currently entertaining a few job opportunities with an eye to joining a newer, up and coming company where his creative ideas can take root and make a lasting impression in his field. He is a leader, a forward thinker, a vegan, a blogger, a dreamer, adventure seeker and continuous student of the world.
Maren
Groomswoman
Maren is Colin's oldest daughter. Maren distinguished herself at the top of her class in high school and again at the KU School of Business, graduating with many distinctions, the most visible being carrying the school banner at graduation. Maren interned with Wicnesoft in Shanghai, China her junior year and for Credit Suisse in NYC her senior year and and could have written her ticket to Wall Street but instead chose a Kansas City firm, Five Elms, where she is already making a name for herself as a valuable member of the company. We expect big things from her.
