Things To Do

Well if you're looking for things to do outside of the wedding, Orlando definitely is the place to be. Here's a list of some of our favorite places as well as some of the major attractions in the area.

Disney Springs

1486 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
, (407) 939-6244

A great place if you want some of the Disney feels without paying for Disney parks. Lots of different stores to shop through that aren't Disney related. Parking is also free and you can honestly just have a good time walking around and enjoying some of the live performances. Fun fact, we actually spent our first quality time out together at Disney Springs with some friends when we were still getting to know each other.

Universal CityWalk Orlando

6000 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819
, (407) 363-8000

It's pretty much Universal's version of Disney Springs but geared more towards people who like to dance and stay out late. You can also take the ferry and check out some of the local hotels, which can turn into a fun little adventure if you have the right people. Free parking after 6pm and check out the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen if you're looking for a nice place to eat while you're there.

Lake Eola Park

512 East Washington Street, Orlando, FL 32801
, (407) 246-4484

Definitely a spot that holds a special place in our hearts. It's where we went for our first date and where the big proposal happened. Located in downtown Orlando, it's a great location to walk around and just enjoy the views surrounding the lake. There's free parking in the Publix garage nearby and, if you don't mind walking a few blocks, you can check out Anthony's Thornton Park for some good italian food - also where we ate for our first date :)

ICON Park™

8375 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819
, (407) 601-7907

ICON Park is a great place to visit if you're in the area. Some of the highlights include the Wheel, where you can see some of the most captivating views slowly cruising around in a climate-controlled capsule or the Orlando StarFlyer if you're looking for something a little more exciting. If you're looking for something closer to the ground, check out the 7D Dark Ride Adventure game where you can pick your own adventure and shoot your way to success (Fun fact: this is actually what we did to end our first date. The scenario we chose? Zombies of course!)

Mango's Tropical Cafe

8126 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819
, (407) 673-4422

If you like live entertainment while you eat, then Mango's Tropical Cafe is the place to check out! This cafe also doubles as a night club if you stay late enough. Just be forewarned, the menu items can be a bit on the pricey side but the food is good and you're bound to burn off some of those calories before you leave for the night. Note: Restaurant opens after 6pm In terms of memories, this is where we celebrated Lonnie's 27th birthday along with her best friend and cousin. Who would have thought that less than a week later we would make things official. It must have been all those fancy dance moves Lonnie showed off that sealed the deal.

For all the days along the way
