During Sandra's last year of veterinary school; she was out of town for half of the year. The couple would finally be together on April 1, 2017. Since Sandra and Logan's first date was at a salsa night and wine bar, Logan coordinated a photographer and a capella singers to be at the salsa night on April 1. The proposal was beautiful as the singers performed "Be My Forever", although Sandra made him repeat it again when they were outside and it was quiet. In April of 2018, they returned to College Station to take formal engagement pictures. The tree featured is the "Century Tree" on Texas A&M University campus. Traditionally, if you pass under the tree with your partner, you will be together forever. If you pass under the tree alone, you will be alone forever. This makes the sidewalk under the tree useless for getting to class, but a very beautiful place for proposals. The other seniors in Logan's Corps of Cadet unit helped make the pictures even more special, with a saber arch.
