Question

Do I need a passport to go to Puerto Rico?

Answer

U.S. citizens do not need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico. Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, all you need to travel there is the proper identification you would need to travel anywhere else in the country.

Question

What is the travel COVID-19 protocol for Puerto Rico?

Answer

As of now, you'll need a negative PCR COVID test within 72 hours of your arrival. You will also need to fill out the travel declaration form at travelsafe.pr.gov. There you will upload your negative test result and vaccination card (if you have one). When you arrive, someone will scan the QR code that generates. If you fly to Vieques (recommended), the check-in person will ask to see your QR code since negative test results are required to enter Vieques. The health department will also text you every day for 2 weeks asking if you are experiencing symptoms. You are required to wear a mask in public in all of Puerto Rico, so please be respectful of this. You do NOT need a negative COVID test to return to the states.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

We have chosen to keep our wedding events adult-only celebrations. We feel that this advanced notice will allow you to make prior arrangements. We hope you will understand our decision to make our wedding weekend child-free, and we know this will allow you to let your hair down and celebrate in style!

Question

Is the ceremony on the beach?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony will be on the beach. Shoes are optional. We will provide transportation from El Blok to the beach ceremony and back to El Blok for the cocktail hour and reception. You’ll definitely want to bring your dancing shoes to the reception!

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

We ask our guests to join us in wearing shades of white, cream, beige, or khaki to our romantic beach-side wedding. Ladies--sundresses would be perfect. Men-- guayaberas, khaki shorts, linen pants, and/or vests are welcome. The wedding ceremony will take place in the sand, so feel free to kick off your shoes for the ceremony, but bring your dancing shoes to the reception! Let us know if you need help finding an outfit for our big day, we'd be happy to help!

Question

Do you need to bring cash or what is the currency?

Answer

The currency in Puerto Rico is the U.S. dollar. Almost every place accepts credit/debit card. We recommend having cash for cab rides as some cabs do not accept cards. There are plenty of ATMs on Vieques if extra cash is needed.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Pack your party pants, dancing shoes, sunscreen, beach clothes, guayaberas for the guys (if you wish), and beach formal dresses for girls. Vieques is a very casual island, so don’t overthink the packing process!

Question

Do I book my own airfare?

Answer

Yes, if you’re interested in traveling with others from San Juan to Vieques, please email your flight info to greeneyedgirlvieques@gmail.com and we can see who is arriving at the same time and do our best to help coordinate.

Question

Where can I get more information about things to do in Vieques?

Answer

Viequestravel.com is a great site that discusses how to get to Vieques, where to eat, beaches, as well as other things to do on the island. Other great resources are: https://viequesreadywhenyouare.com and https://viequesinsider.com

Question

Can I take pictures during the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We have hired an amazing photographer to capture our wedding ceremony and reception. We ask our guests to be fully present during the ceremony and refrain from taking pictures during this time. However during the reception, feel free to bust out your phones/cameras as much as you'd like! We promise to share our professional photos with you as soon as we receive them.

Question

I booked my flight and hotel...now what?

Answer

Please send all travel arrangements to our wedding planner, Jillian, at greeneyedgirlvieques@gmail.com. She'll want to know when you're planning on arriving in Vieques, where you are staying, etc. This will help with coordination of guests.
