DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON OPTIONS (aka On the Peninsula)

Here's an overview of the options downtown (more details on hotels and how to book in sections below): WANT TO BE IN THE HEART OF THE CITY? If you want to be in the heart of downtown (aka, "the historic district"), choose The Double Tree Hotel & Suites, Charleston Historic District. WANT TO BE DOWNTOWN BUT NOT FULLY IN THE HUB-BUB? If you'd like to be close (a 5-min ride) to the historic district but not totally immersed in it, and you like the idea of being on water and a bit closer to our wedding venue, The Courtyard Marriot Charleston Waterfront is your place. WANT YOUR OWN PLACE DOWNTOWN? Airbnb.com, Homeaway.com, and VRBO.com are all good for finding a unique place downtown. If you want to be closer to our venue, the closer you are to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), the closer you are to the bridge that will take you to Bowens Island (Note: it's a small peninsula, so everything’s pretty close). FOLLY BEACH OPTIONS

If you want to stay on Folly, you can choose between quaint B&Bs, a luxury beach-front hotel, or a beach house rental. Here's an overview of your options (more details on hotels and how to book in sections below): HOTELS / B&Bs We have reserved all of the rooms in an adorable and very cool B&B on Folly called the Beachside Boutique. The Water's Edge Inn is another lovely B&B on the island if the Beachside fills up. If you'd like a little more luxury and want to be on the beach, the Tides Hotel is your place. BEACH HOUSES There are many awesome beach house rentals to be had on Folly, but they go quickly for holiday weekends, so act fast! Your best bet is AirBnB.com, Homeaway.com, or VRBO.com. If you want to be close to the main drag in Folly, the Tides Hotel is a good landmark. If you're close to Tides, you're close to the center of Folly. Keep scrolling for specific info on each hotel.

Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Waterfront

Here, you'll be on the water and a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the historic district; however, you'll be just a 5-min ride away. This hotel is about 17 minutes from our venue by car. Fun fact: We stayed here the first time we ever visited Charleston (after it was 75 deg. in December and our ski vacation was canceled unexpectedly...thanks global warming for introducing us to our new home!). We’ve secured a special rate of $167/night for a standard room or $177/night for a waterfront view. To book, call 1800-Marriott and ask for the Social Wedding Block Group Rate at the Courtyard Charleston Waterfront (they shouldn’t, but if they ask for the wedding name use Coleman/Chichester). Booking early is recommended as there are a limited number of rooms.

Beachside Boutique Inn

This is an adorable B&B on Folly. You'll be a block from the heart of Folly's bars and restaurants and 3 blocks from the beach. We've blocked all the rooms here, so you're likely to get to know some other wedding guests too! Oh, and there's free breakfast! Rates are very reasonable for Folly on a holiday weekend, with prices as low as $229/night depending on the room you choose. To book, call and tell them you are booking for the Coleman/Chichester Wedding (you can't book online because the rooms have been blocked).

Water's Edge Inn

This is a lovely B&B with a little more luxury than Beachside Boutique (and prices that reflect this...closer to $325/night). We don't have rooms booked with them specifically, but they have told us that they are likely to have rooms available through mid-July (NOTE: If you are booking far in advance, you may need to call as the online system only goes so far out).

Unfortunately, as our guests are staying in many locations, we are unable to provide transportation to the wedding. We recommend using Uber or Lyft for your arrival. We will be providing shuttles from the venue to the center of Folly Beach at the end of the evening. The first shuttle will depart at 9:45 and will make several trips, with the last shuttle leaving around 11:30-11:45.
