We went here on one of our first dates! Take a tour of a dope old mansion. Also take a drive down Summit Ave to see more cool houses that are totally within our price range.
At the end of Summit Ave. 10/10 view of the Mississippi River. Check out the bluffs below and take a walk along the river. P.S. Bonus points if you see a Macalester couple on a first date.
State capitols don't get much better looking than this. Take a tour of another dope old building.
Better than your average zoo because it is free and there is a bonus conservatory.
Great place to see the Mississippi River and the Minneapolis skyline, including the Guthrie Theater and Mill City Ruins. Half of the bridge will be closed due to construction, but you should still be able to walk out onto it to get a good pic for Insta.
A sick museum about the history of Minneapolis. Not far from the Stone Arch Bridge.
Another early date for Liz and Riley! Who doesn't like a good art museum?
The sculpture garden is lit. Don't miss the classic Spoonbridge and Cherry.
Take a walk! Lake of the Isles is our favorite since it's in our old stomping grounds, but they're all good.
A beautiful park just north of the Cities -- we thought about getting married here, but it didn't make the cut. We did however get our engagement photos taken here. See if you can recreate some of our poses!
We're getting married here, but take some extra time to walk around the campus! It's literally like a 20-minute walk, tops. Liz went to college here with Kofi Annan.
Riley's childhood home. His family doesn't live there anymore, but feel free to take a tour of the neighborhood. Ask the neighbors for stories of Riley's wild exploits.
Stop here after walking around the Cathedral or touring the James J. Hill House! Pro tip: It's pronounced "NINE-uhs."
The name says it all. The best sandwiches and special little gourmet treats to go!
Something a little fancier. Try the beef tongue!
This was just a lowly dive bar that Liz knew from college as "The Tap" when Riley suggested we go here on our second date after discovering that every bowling alley in town was full because of opening league night. Riley referred to it as "The Groveland Tap." Liz thought that was very silly.
Fans of corned beef specials should get Liz's favorite, the East Coast. Sub their "bird sauce" for the thousand island it comes with!
Our favorite place in the Twin Cities for Indian food! Our go-to takeout option when we lived in South Minneapolis.
