Travel

Here are some tips to help make your travel planning a little bit easier. We've suggested a few hotels but have also recommended neighborhoods to stay in if you prefer to do research on your own. We've also highlighted a few things to know about getting around the city.

Travel Note

Recommended Neighborhoods

If you'd prefer to shop around for a place to stay, consider Queen Anne, Pioneer Square, West Lake Center, and Bell Town for hotels. All of these have easy access to the Seattle sites. Expand your search to Fremont, Ballard or possibly West Seattle if you're looking into AirBnb and are fine with a more local experience.

Hotel

Downtown Seattle Hotels

Here's a map showing multiple hotels in the downtown district of Seattle. These are all walkable to the major attractions, like Pike Place Market and the waterfront. Suggestions: Hotel Max, The Westin Seattle, The Warwick. Prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of tourists? Consider Silver Cloud Inn at South Lake Union or Silver Cloud Hotel-Seattle Broadway in Capitol Hill.

Hotel

The Maxwell Hotel - A Staypineapple Hotel

300 Roy Street
Seattle, WA 98109
 (877) 298-9728

Apply the promo code "wed" when checking availability. This will populate rooms that are available at a 15% discount. The code is accepted at any of the Stay Pineapple hotels in Seattle. Hotel Maxwell and Hotel Five are downtown and Watertown and University Inn are closer to the University of Washington. To help you make the most of your stay, these hotels lend out bikes and offer a free shuttle to some of the main Seattle attractions.

Hotel

Georgetown Inn

6100 Corson Avenue South
Seattle, WA 98108
 (206) 762-2233

This hotel is walking distance to our wedding venue and may be a good option for the night of the ceremony. Georgetown is Seattle's oldest neighborhood and has a rich industrial history, which is still present today. Visit one of its many breweries and wineries (try Georgetown Brewery for their popular Manny's or Emerald City Beer) and grab a bite at Brass Tacks or Stellar Pizza. Then provide a feast for the eyes and ears by cruising through Georgetown Records, one the many art galleries or checking out the street murals. Georgetown is in southern Seattle and will require more than your feet to get you to the city's main attractions.

House Or Rental

AirBnB

If you're coming with a group or simply prefer to live like a local, consider AirBnB. If you're new to the service, use this link to get a $40 credit when you register and complete your travel reservation.

Flight

Seattle Tacoma Airport (SEA)

Sea-Tac is located just 15 miles from downtown Seattle and there are a number of options to get to and from the airport. Follow the link to check out the Ground Transportation page on Sea-Tac's website to learn more about the light rail, taxis, app-based rides (Uber, Lyft, Wingz) and car rental services.

Train

Link Light Rail

The Link Light Rail is a great option to get to and from the airport. Walking, bike-shares, app-based rides and the Seattle bus system are better options for exploring within the city.

Travel Note

A tip about Seattle traffic...

Like most major urban areas, traffic can be a doozy here and rush hour tends to peak from 7-9am and 330-630pm. Please plan your travel accordingly so you're sure not to miss your flight. (Or our vows!)
