Yes! The MOXI (our reception venue) is classic Santa Barbara white stucco and light tile. You will definitely want sunglasses, even with a marine layer!
Yes! Guests may park in the natural history museum parking lot. There should be plenty of space. Vehicles can be left in the parking lot up to an hour after the ceremony ends and cannot stay overnight.
The closest parking is at the train station (city lot #13), which is just across the railroad tracks from the MOXI. Additional information about parking downtown and the waterfront is available here: https://santabarbaraca.gov/government/departments/public-works/public-works-downtown-team/downtown-plaza-and-parking
Our ceremony at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will be on semi loose mulch. For guests wearing open shoes, you may need to shake out some mulch from between your toes! Our reception at the MOXI will be on concrete. Highly recommend bringing a pair of comfy dancing shoes in case you need a break from the hard ground!
Great question, we are wondering the same. In June, we may have June gloom (marine layer) or we may have a gorgeous sunny solstice day. We recommend bringing layers in either case since our venue is entirely outside and located close to the beach where it tends to get cool in the evening.
Driving from the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (ceremony) to the MOXI (reception) is about a 10 minute drive (2.8 miles). We recommend car pooling or using a rideshare service to head over to our reception venue.
Usually yes, there are many rideshare drivers in the Santa Barbara region. Given that our wedding weekend falls during UCSB graduation, we are anticipating that rideshare services will be busy.
