Aloha! Ciao! We can't wait to celebrate with you!

On the night of December 14, 2019 I was attending a Christmas party for my former employer. Lithe and I worked for the same company, Vistana Signature Experience (aka Marriott) with myself being a supervisor and she a concierge, but at sister properties. And so it goes.. she and I had mutual friends that we weren't aware of and I happened to be the supervisor of her best friend Kahea. Lithe and I had never met in person, but were familiar with each other's name through emails. That evening of the Christmas party the night was coming to an end and Lithe came by to pick up her friends. Coincidentally, I was going down stairs to get something out of my car and at the same time she had pulled up. I said "hi" to her and greeted her with a kiss on her cheek as we Italians and Hawaiians do. A little conversation was had about our evenings and then she and her friends were on their way to the next party. When she got there, she started talking to Kahea about me and seemed really giddy while sharing the little banter that we had. At that moment Kahea said to her that she thinks from what she knew about me, Lithe should see what my status was and show some interest if she was interested. So, without hesitation Lithe asked Kahea to take her back to the party; That she wanted to talk to me some more. Now believe it or not that night I saw 2 shooting stars. One on the balcony and one when I had gone outside the first time. When Lithe came back to talk to me, I saw another shooting star and asked if she saw it too. She began to tell me that that was the 3rd one she saw that night as well! I know not all of us believe in superstitions, but at that moment we both felt like we were right where we were supposed to be. That it was serendipitous and that our love story was written in the stars.
