How we Met

Who knew a small impromptu Halloween party would change our lives forever. Dennis dressed as a medical student, wearing jeans and a hoodie, and Lindsey wrapped in a blue blanket wearing a pigtail, nose, and ears. Dennis was very shy to ask Lindsey out, so she made the first move. Being "let's go watch IU basketball over beer and pizza." Dennis, also being beyond early to everything, shows up fifteen minutes early, and Lindsey has not even showered yet. So over the years, these experiences kept happening. Adventures continued to occur from trying to move a mattress up three flights of stairs in Fenway, trapped on Block Island, stealing gasoline out of a barn in NH after pirates weekend, and hitchhiking a ride after tubing a little too far down the Guadalupe River.

Proposal

Realizing she is the one, the time came to pop the question, and in true "Densey" fashion, an epic story had to occur. Dennis found the perfect event "dog sledding" in Lake Placid, NY. He books the dog-friendly hotel, of course, thanks to Groupon, so he thought. Upon arrival, which wazes predicted as a four-hour drive turns into a seven-hour trip, resulting in a 2 am arrival time with two very energic dogs in 20-degree weather. Arriving in a room to find the complimentary dog beds are barely big enough to fit a chihuahua at best, mind you, their pups are 50 and 80 pounds. Also, there are over a thousand 12 year-olds in town for a pee-wee hockey tournament. Dennis loses it, calls another hotel, and they move to a fantastic cabin overlooking the Adirondack mountains. Things seem to be going well now, so he calls the dog sledding company to schedule the ride where he will pop the question. "Hi, I would like to make a reservation," sorry, closed; the ice is too thin, followed by a dial tone. Everything is falling apart, luckily Dennis can think on his toes and packed Lindsey's hockey skates. So, he suggests having Lindsey go ice skating on the original rink from the 1932 Olympics. They hit the ice, Dennis finds a hockey mom since they are in abundance to take photos as he pops the question. Lindsey rounds turn four comes to a stop and says, "what are you doing, you are going to fall?" since Dennis is standing in the middle of the rink. Dennis gets down on one knee and pops the question, and she says yes.
