Lindsay was on an impromptu mini road trip with her friend a few days before Christmas. She and Nikita were taking the five hour drive down to NYC when a Tinder dating horror story came into conversation. They decided to make Lindsay a more serious dating prolife on Match. Lindsay drove while they came up with ideas and Nikita typed it all up. It wasn't until after New Years that Lindsay got the nerve to make the profile public. While stuck at Princeton University waiting out a rain delay on a baseball trip, Peter and close friends Evan and Jonny had little to do, and decided to create a Match profile for Peter. His first relationship from the dating site didn't go so well, and Peter bailed on Match. Months later, after seeing success from a friend, he decided to put his profile back up a few days after Christmas. Lindsay had only been on the website a few days when she received a message from Peter. He asked some silly questions like "Would you rather be attacked by one hundred duck sized horses, or one horse sized duck?" which was refreshing compared to the usual "What do you do for fun?" After talking for a few days, they deiced to meet up at Starbucks for coffee. They sat and talked for over two hours before other obligations got in their way. Lindsay had another date scheduled for later that week, and she canceled when she got home. Their next date was at the Montshire Museum of science, and four years later they're counting down the days till their wedding.

We were taking Bo for a walk on back roads in Plainfield where we lived. It was the first weekend of October, the peak of fall foliage. Peter suggested we go to the Top of the World, a short hike that leads to an open field with views of Mt. Ascutney. It wasn't the first time we'd been up there, and I definitely didn't see it coming, due to the many hints he kept dropping that would suggest he hadn't even thought about buying a ring. We were looking out at the view and when I turned around he reached into his pocket and popped the question.
