Merchant and Trade is a trendy rooftop bar on top of the 19th floor of Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, serving craft cocktails, local beers & bar bites. It has a great view of the city lights, the Knights Stadium, and Romare Bearden park. This would be a great place to go for a drink in between the ceremony and reception, as it's right across the street from the hotel block. You can walk in, but having a reservation is always helpful! Please note there is a dress code for this bar.
Ready for a drink right after the ceremony? The French Quarter is only a 5 minute walk from the church. There you will find a collection of casual bars and restaurants. This would also be a good spot to grab a casual dinner on Friday night. Cheers! (There is a restaurant there called French Quarter, but the whole block is referred to as the French Quarter)
Another great Rooftop Bar! This restaurant is on the fancy side, but provides the best view of Charlotte’s skyline. This is a great option for dinner or drinks on Friday night if you are visiting the area and looking to explore the city.
The world’s largest selection of draft beers available in one restaurant. Three stories of draft beer with a skyline view! Open 11:00 am-2:00 am. Half a mile walk from St. Peter and a short ride to the reception. Great food, too! We recommend the pretzel.
Seltzer lovers, this one is for you! The first seltzery on the East Coast is located walking distance from the venue. Like a brewery, but for seltzer. In addition to draft seltzers, they also have a variety of specialty, high gravity seltzer-based cocktails.
Craving a glass of wine? Craft is a bottle shop offering a wide selection of beers and wines alike. This is a personal favorite spot of Lindsay's, where she could often be found sharing a bottle and a cheeseboard with her girlfriends.
If you have some time, Freedom Park is near and dear to our hearts. Garrett grew up on the park's playground, and Lindsay discovered it was her happy place after moving to the area. We go there every chance we can for a long walk or to eat our sandwiches from Laurel Market. As if it could get any better, it's also where Garrett proposed!
It's no secret that we are OBSESSED with Laurel Market. This bodega has the best sandwiches around, and we stand by that. Lindsay's go-to is the "Laurel Market" on ciabatta, and Garrett loves the "Mercado." It's out of the way of the wedding festivities, but in a beautiful part of Charlotte if you are looking to explore.
A renovated Charlotte icon. This is a great place to bowl, grab a drink, and enjoy some good eats from the grill. Located on Montford Street right across from Moosehead Grill, there are several spots to grab drinks and even enjoy karaoke at Jeff's Bucket shop.
