Humberto Delgado (Lisbon) Airport

Lisbon's international airport is the most convenient way to fly into Portugal. There are a number of flights through Delta, American Airlines, and TAP (Portugal's national airline) or through their airline partners, leaving from across the U.S. This includes Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

We would like to offer a shuttle service from Lisbon to Estremoz to start the weekend off strong on Thursday, May 21st, and with return service on Sunday, May 24th. Please reach out to us if you would like a shuttle and we will try to make some arrangements!

Car Rental & Taxi Services

Rental cars are readily available in Lisbon, especially at the airport. Taxi services are also available throughout all major cities, including Estremoz. You can also use ride sharing apps at the airport like Uber and Bolt, though please be aware that they are significantly limited if not unavailable in Estremoz.

Public Transportation

Public transportation is quite accessible throughout Portugal. You can find bus fares from Lisbon to Estremoz starting at around $19 each way for adults that take about 2-2.5 hours through Rede Expressos (national bus service). The Estremoz bus station is about 1.2 km away from the venue and 1 km away from Pateo dos Solares Hotel, which is roughly a 15-20 minute walk or a quick 5 minute taxi ride.

Pousada Castelo Estremoz

Also known as Pousada da Rainha (queen) Santa Isabel, the hotel was built for Rainha Isabel by her husband, the king of Portugal, King D. Dinis, in the 13th century. It has since been restored into a beautiful hotel with excellent views of both the historic city center within the castle walls, and nearby vineyards. Due to it's small size (only 32 rooms), the Pousada is already completely booked for the weekend. But have no fear, everyone will get plenty of time to enjoy the Pousada throughout the wedding weekend! Pateo dos Solares Hotel

Pateo dos Solares is a quaint but contemporary choice for your stay during our wedding weekend. It's comfortable rooms and peaceful setting make it another great choice for your stay during our wedding weekend! We have a block of rooms available for the weekend (Thursday, May 21st through Sunday, May 24, 2026). The hotel has a limited supply of cribs and beds for children under 12 years old; if required, for you or your family, please inquire at time of reservation. To make a reservation, please email the hotel at reservas@pateosolares.com or call with the dates, discount code, and mention that you are booking for Chris and Lindsay's wedding. The rooms are first come, first served up until April 21, 2026 and full payment is required upon booking via bank transfer or credit card.
