Portugal is becoming increasingly well-known for its amazing wines, and Estremoz plays an important part in the region's wine production. There are a number of vineyards in the area that offer wine tastings and guided tours of the vineyard and cellar. João Portugal Ramos winery has a vineyard in Estremoz called "Vila Santa," which translates to "Holy or Saint's Village" and which is named after Queen Saint Isabel, just like the Pousada. They offer tours and tastings, and even a lunch with wine pairings at this beautiful vineyard just 5-10 minutes away from the venue.
The Tiago Cabaco winery is another great option. Established in 2004, the wines produced here are a more modern interpretation of Portuguese winemaking. They offer tours of the vineyard and wine cellar, as well as tastings.
This is our favorite winery in the area surrounding Estremoz! Servas has delicious wine in a gorgeous setting. You can see the castle walls and Pousada of Estremoz from the pateo. We recommend scheduling a tour of the wine cellar and tasting while you're in the area. They also have an amazing restaurant called Legacy which is featured in the Michelin guide.
