A favorite hike for UVA students and local families, the Humpback Rocks trail is a two-mile trail about 30 minutes outside of Charlottesville offering great views of the Shenandoah Valley. The hike takes about two hours to complete and isn't particularly strenuous.

A short drive or Uber from Charlottesville, Carter Mountain is a hilltop orchard, cidery, country store and bakery with stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley. On Thursday evenings they host their famous "sunset series" with live music overlooking the mountains.
