Waimea Canyon
The Grand Canyon of the Pacific Awesome drive and killer views just about 30 min from Poipu.
Kipu Ranch Adventures
ATV adventures through where they filmed Jurassic Park (seriously), ziplining, and rope swinging into the same river Indiana Jones did (seriously). Super fun, down and dirty time.
Poipu Beach
Crescent-shaped beach and crystal-clear waters offering snorkeling, surfing and the occasional seal beaching itself to say hey.
Koloa Fish Market
Arguably the best poke we've ever had. Worth multiple visits.
Hanalei Bay
Stand Up paddle boarding, surfing and chilling on one of the North Shore's signature spots.
Hanakapiai Falls
One of our absolute favorite things to do on the North Shore. 8-mile round trip hike through the jungle to swim under a 400ft waterfall. Advance reservations are now required for all visitors. Go to the state park website for reservations and information - https://www.gohaena.com If you're interested in doing the hike, they open up reservations 30 days in advance.
Tunnels Beach
Tunnels is perhaps the most stunning beach on the island. Just a little further drive past Hanelai but worth it.
Silver Falls Ranch
For those interested in exploring the lush inland valleys of the North Shore on horseback, this is the spot. Guided group and private trail rides through tropical wildlands. Highly recommended excursion for the horse-lovers.
Helicopter Tour
Without a road encircling the island, many of Kauai’s most stunning sights are inaccessible by land. From Na Pali Coast to Waimea Canyon to the actual deep jungle “Jurassic Falls”, there’s so much to see. With so much to explore, a Kauai helicopter tour is truly the only way to experience all of Kauai’s most epic scenery. There are many helicopter tour companies on island and pros and cons to the different aircrafts. We personally love “doors off” tours.
Old Koloa Town
Funky little street with a bunch of shops, restaurants and food trucks.
Old Kapaa Town
Charming beachside community on Kauai’s East shore. Cool shops, killer food trucks other great spots for eats.
Poipu Bay Golf Course
Gorgeous course right next door to the Hyatt.
Spouting Horn
The Poipu surf channels into a natural lava tube here and releases a huge spout of water that can reach as high as 50 feet into the air.
The Shops at Kukui‘ula
Great mix of restaurants, shops, and local hangouts.
