Yes, they got married in a lightning fast, tiny ceremony at Brooklyn Borough Hall on October 27th, 2023–their 10th anniversary as a couple. But they are so excited to celebrate their marriage and relationship with all of you!
Ah, a subtle distinction from the previous question. Indeed, they already got married–please don't be offended if you didn't know! Lincoln and Mage are iconically bad at remembering who they've told things to.
No! Prepositions are perfectly acceptable words to end sentences with. While we're at it, feel free to gleefully split infinitives! And start sentences with conjunctions! These ideas all came from some stuffy old guys in wigs hundreds of years ago, who thought the rules of Latin grammar should be applied to English. All we have to say is: Cogito, ergo faciam quod volo.
Okay.
Ooh! Too busy to type out “situation,” are we? Very well. The food is being catered by Wild, one of our favorite restaurants in all of NYC. Incredibly, all of their food is gluten-free! We have also coordinated with Wild to keep the food nut-free. There will be vegan options as well. Dinner will be buffet-style. Please reach out to us if you have other specific questions about dietary needs.
Wear whatever makes you feel awesome! We genuinely want you showing up in whatever outfit makes you feel best. If you’re unsure what to make of this, you can’t go wrong with formal wear (think suits, dresses, etc.), but we really just want you to feel good in whatever you’re wearing. One person said they might wear a suit of armor. We fully endorse that choice.
While we love (most) children, we’ve decided to keep this wedding 18+.
We have incredible news: there is so much to do in NYC! If a thing exists, it probably exists somewhere in New York. The wedding is in Brooklyn, but Manhattan is quite easy to get to via the subway! Here are some of our favorite places to go, most of which are free or fairly inexpensive: Brooklyn: The Botanic Gardens, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Art of Play Curiosity Shop Manhattan: Central Park, Little Island, Chelsea Market, The Highline, American Museum of Natural History
Trader Joe's.
This is a common misconception. What people sometimes mistake for rudeness or apathy is actually just people trying to live their lives with as little friction as possible. But to keep it easy, Lincoln has developed a simple set of rules for how New Yorkers interact: 1. Mind your own business. 2. Don't be an asshole. 3. You may only violate rules 1 or 2 in response to someone else violating rules 1 or 2.
