Central BBQ - Midtown
Achmed's first experience with Memphis BBQ was here at Central BBQ -- needless to say, he is a big fan! Their ribs are award-winning, and make sure you leave with one of their classic Central BBQ cups!
Huey's Midtown
Achmed and Lilly went here on their first date. Great burgers, fried pickles and the best cheese and sausage plate in town! You can even try to get a toothpick stuck in the ceiling. Photo is circa 1998 - one of Lilly's many trips to Huey's throughout the years!

Crosstown Concourse
Achmed and Lilly went on many study dates at Crosstown - but even more dinner dates! Check out FarmBurger for delicious fries, and spend some time looking at all the incredible art inside of Crosstown. Their bright red staircase makes for a perfect photo-op!
Mempops
This is a local favorite for delicious popsicles on a hot summer day! We recommend getting yours dipped in chocolate!
National Civil Rights Museum
We recommend spending a morning or afternoon at the National Civil Rights Museum/The Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King stayed right before his death. The museum explores the impact of the Civil Rights Movement and its influence on today's culture.
Memphis Zoo
The Memphis zoo is a great place to take kids (and adults!) for a day of fun. It will be HOT in June, so bring water, a hat and some sunscreen! Enjoy a stroll through the exhibits with a side of Dippin' Dots... maybe even cool off in the water features if the Memphis heat starts to get to you.
Overton Park
Overton Park is a beautiful place to take a nice walk, or even a short hike in the summer. There are so many trees covering the paths, you feel like you are in a jungle! It's the perfect place for an after-dinner stroll, a morning jog, or even a quick walk with a iced latte from the nearby Cafe Eclectic.
Stax Museum of American Soul Music
Check out Isaac Hayes' cadillac, the historic recording studios, the hall of records, and maybe even bust a move on their dance floor!
