Lilly and Achmed met at Medicos/La Clinica Camellia in Memphis 2018. Lilly was working as a medical assistant and Achmed was fresh out of medical school, doing a gap year before residency. Achmed first noticed Lilly when she was handling a family of 6, struggling to hold all their charts... and Lilly first noticed Achmed when he was staring at the computer trying to type in his notes while trying to read his own handwriting. Through all the chaos, they fell in love, and the rest is history!

Their first date was a lovely walk through Shelby Farms, where they enjoyed a stroll around the lake, buffalo sightings, and it even included Lilly wading into the lake to pick up some trash, while Achmed watched her and looked bewildered. The first traditional sit down dinner date was at a spot Lilly has been visiting since she was a kid... the world-famous Huey's. They enjoyed burgers and fried pickles, and Huey's became a staple of theirs ever since.

Achmed matched into Family Medicine at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas in 2019. While they hadn't been together long, Lilly knew she wanted to join him. They packed up their 500-square-foot Memphis apartment, filled up a U-Haul and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas in June of 2019. Lilly continued working as a medical assistant for a clinic while she applied to medical school, and Achmed discovered that residency is just as hard as they say it is. They fell in love with Little Rock - beautiful hikes, incredible food, great people - and enjoyed every long, difficult, overworked day. Lilly got accepted into medical school in 2020, but luckily would still be in Arkansas.

Christmas morning of 2020, Achmed and Lilly were cozy in their apartment, exchanging little gifts around the Christmas tree. Achmed handed Lilly a card, with a love note inside. Unbeknownst to her, there was another little message in the card, hidden on the back... "Will you marry me?" It may have taken Lilly several minutes to find the message, but once Achmed got on one knee, wearing his Christmas p.j.'s, and pulled out a beautiful ring, she understood what was happening. It was the easiest YES of her life!
